Gabriel Geng is a Dallas-based artist and photographer working with portraiture and narrative image-making. His practice considers the frictions and continuities between contemporary Chinese and American cultural ideologies, tracing how these forces surface in everyday social life.

Integrating handwriting alongside photographic images, Geng constructs layered, self-contained tableaux that move between document and fiction. Across these staged yet intimate scenes, memory and identity remain in flux, and the social order is repeatedly revised and re-authored. He has also produced fashion photography in New York.
